2012 BCS National Championship

LSU-'Bama. This is going to be the 2nd time this season that these 2 teams will play each other. The difference between this game and last game has much larger implications. The winner of this game will be crowned as National Champs. The first time these 2 teams played this season it was an epic battle of heart and determination. LSU managed to win the game in overtime, 9-6. This game will be a battle of defense in my opinion. Both of these teams have an amazing offense but defense wins championships. LSU's beast run stopping lineman will collide with the fierce ground attack of Alabama. The winner of this game will be Alabama in my opinion. Alabama has massive lineman that will do well to stop the run, and they will also pressure the quarterback. On the other side of the ball, Alabama's rushing attack is led by Trent Richardson, Heisman candidate. LSU's defense is good, but it will be hard to stop the Tide. As they did in the Georgia game, LSU will have to rely on their special teams to make big plays and give them good field position. With most of the big playmakers in this game wearing maroon, all I can say is ROLL TIDE.

LSU-Georgia

With the SEC championship game coming up this weekend, people are speculating what is going to happen in this exciting game. LSU's dominating rush offense will collide with Georgia's stout rush defense. As some experts are predicting this game as a minor bump in the road for LSU, I wouldn't be so sure of anything. As we have seen in the past 2 weeks of college football, any team can come in and make an upset. 5 of the top 10 teams were upset 2 weeks ago, totally reshaping the BCS rankings. Aaron Murray of Georgia is playing better than he ever has played. He is averaging  245 passing yards per game and has also made some big plays with his feet in the recent weeks. Georgia started out 0-2 after playing two top 10 teams, Boise State and South Carolina, but then turned their season around and won the next 10 games. The implications surrounding this game are huge. If Georgia manages to win this game, then the whole BCS National Championship will have to be redone. Alabama will end up playing Oklahoma State, as long as Oklahoma State manages to beat Oklahoma. With all the hype surrounding this game, I feel like this will be one of the best games this season. (This post was created on Friday, December 2nd)

What's happening to the Eagles?

When the 2011-212 roster for the Philadelphia Eagles was announced, it had experts wondering whether the Eagles would be showing up in the Super Bowl. It was dubbed the "Dream Team" after they acquired Vince Young, Donovan McNabb, and Michael Vick. They had NFL analysts talking of an undefeated season. But what has gone from hype and talk has gone to shock and disappointment. The Eagles have moved to 4-8 on the season, and people are finally starting to understand why. The 3 man quarterback trio that was supposed to be unstoppable is starting to show its flaws. Vince Young plainly just isn't a good quarterback. Donovan McNabb is old and has had enough. Finally, the NFL MVP contender of last season, Michael Vick, cannot seem to be the player he was last season. He has battled an injury all season, and when he does seem healthy, he just cant pull out the win. The fact that the Eagles cannot decide on a quarterback is not the reason the Eagles have a losing season. The Defense isn't much better, giving up over 200 yards rushing in every loss this season. With the Eagles out of playoff contention, the Eagles will need to remodel their team and make some BIG changes, or we will see the same results next year.

Can the Packers go undefeated?

The Green Bay Packers. One of the NFL's oldest franchises and most dominating teams of all time. They have won 13 NFL Championships and 4 Super Bowls. They have had the rep of being a team full of history and talent. From QB's Bart Star to Brett Favre, to Aaron Rodgers, The team has had a history of great quarterbacks and team leaders. What started out as a 8-0 start has grown to 11-0. Packers fans are in a frenzy with the possibility of the Packers going undefeated. But what is the driving factor behind the Packers' success? Some people argue it is the quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. But what I think is making the Packers unstoppable is the crushing defense. The defense is led by Linebacker Clay Matthews, an All-Pro player. He continues to shut down opposing team's offense, rarely letting a score. One of the key victories in this 2011-12 season was their opening game win against the reigning Super Bowl Champs, New Orleans Saints. They won the game 42-34. After this game, they have ran through all of the other teams, dominating them. With pretty much all of the good teams behind them, I think it will be easy for the Packers to finish off the season as a perfect 16-0. I predict that we will be seeing the Packers soon- In the Super Bowl.

The "Luck" of the Indianapolis Colts...

While the Colts of Indianapolis might not be the hottest team in the NFL right now, at least they aren't the worst team. Yeah right. The Colts lost their chance at a playoff bid before the season even started when quarterback Peyton Manning was announced as unable to play due to a neck injury he suffered last season. The mere fact that they are still playing with pride is amazing in itself. But are they? According to many NFL experts, the Colts might be trying to lose. Quarterback of Stanford University in California, Andrew Luck, might be the reason the Colts have seemed so dismal this season. As of now, the Colts are first in line to acquire future number 1 draft pick Andrew Luck. Peyton Manning is inactive, but how can a decent team such as the Colts manage to start 0-11 when they have gone 14-2 and 10-6 in the past 2 seasons? The answer lies beyond Peyton Manning. Defense wins Championships, and the Colts' D isn't that bad. With the recent Suck For Luck attitude, many NFL Teams have been shockingly... Throwing games? Its easy to lose if you try. An "accidental" interception here, a fumble there, and suddenly your team lost the game. In fact, the Colts turnover ratio has decreased each week and is now an awful -8. I wont be surprised when the Colts go 0-16. And as a Colts fan, I am surprisingly rooting for that to happen. I think that Andrew Luck would be a great addition to the team. So are the Colts losing on purpose? That is for you to decide.
